The decomposed bodies of a 6-year-old boy and his mother were found on a bed inside a Brooklyn apartment Wednesday afternoon, according to cops and law enforcement sources.

The gruesome discovery was made around 2 p.m. after police were called about a putrid odor coming from an apartment in NYCHA’s Unity Plaza Houses at 545 Dumont Ave., authorities said.

The parent, 33, and child were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The remains were both decomposed in sheets on a bed, sources said.

There was no sign of criminality, but the medical examiner still needs to determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, according to sources.
